Debbie and I began attending FCC in 1991. Since that time we have served in a number of areas throughout the church. It was in the fall of 2001 when the church asked if I would fill the pulpit temporarily while they sought out a new minister. In January of 2003 the church called me to an interim position. The following year we began to serve in full-time ministry. What a great journey it has been, we wouldn't trade it for anything. We consider Crescent our home and we love serving God, our church family and the community. You never know where the Lord will lead you, but you can bet when He says; "follow Me" ,  you'll have an incredible journey.

Elder

Chris Christensen

Chris Christensen

Chris spent his childhood growing up in the Chicago area and moved to Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 14. He was raised in the Catholic Church, where he was an altar boy for several years, with plans on becoming a priest when he grew up.  Life, however, had other plans for him.

Chris met his future wife, Karen, and they married in 1991. They have two beautiful children…a son, Logan, who attends college, and a daughter, Faith, who attends High School.

Chris graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1995, but also began a career in the Broadcast Media industry before graduating from college. He has worked for all major TV Networks and opened his own Advertising Agency…Christensen Media Group…in the year 2000, which is still thriving today, by the grace of God.

Chris stated, “I love the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit, with all my heart. I love my family, and I love teaching the Word of God…to all who will listen.” Chris has led the “Crusaders” adult Sunday school class at the First Christian Church of Crescent for approximately 15 years, and he has been an Elder at the same church for many years, as well.

Chris also hosts a short Bible Study each Saturday morning, at 9:55 am, on KQCV Radio (800AM). The Radio segment is called, “Moment of Faith”. He authors a weekly newspaper column under the same name (Moment of Faith), which appears in the Logan County Courier. Chris has written a book entitled, Little Lambs for Christ, which was originally a series of personal letters to his children, explaining what they should always remember about God, throughout their lives.

God is Chris’ passion…and there can be no greater passion than the love that God has for us.
